Job Summary

Certified Dental Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists dentist chairside during patient examination and treatment.
  • Prepares restorative materials and cements as required and passes instruments to the dentist as requested.
  • Records notes and data in dental chart.
  • Takes, develops, mounts, records, and files radiographs.
  • Dismisses patients and disinfects the operatory between patients.
  • Provides post-operative, surgical instructions as required.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies including placement of orders.
  • Cleans and organizes dental operatories daily.
  • Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains dental equipment by the appropriate method and returns it to the proper drawers or trays.
  • Monitors laboratory cases by logging those leaving and returning to the health center.
  • Pours stone or plaster models and assists the dentist with the dental laboratory as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains the dental laboratory: vacuums machine, x-ray equipment, and autoclaves.
  • Monitors sterilization equipment with biological indicators.
  • Maintains daily log of patient encounters.
  • Manages the daily check in/out of patient encounters.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be certified or registered as a Dental Assistant and have a radiology license issued by the state of New Jersey; completed an accredited dental assistant program (program requirement may be waived based on experience). 1 – 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Coordinator, Quality Improvement/RN

Job Summary

Quality Improvement/RN Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with the President/CEO, CMO, and CFO to develop the organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Works with the Safety Officer, HIPAA Officer/Medical Records Coordinator, Human Resources Manager, Director of Nursing, and Facilities Manager on Performance Improvement activities.
  • Monitors and evaluates the appropriateness of the organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement Plan and related quality practices.
  • Schedules and chairs the organization-wide Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Oversees all of the organization’s Quality Improvement activities, including those that are required for the various grant funded programs.
  • Work with the senior management staff to establish programs and/or department specific Quality Improvement indicators.
  • Designs, schedules, and conducts quality review audits as appropriate to each of the health centers.
  • Maintains documents and records of all Quality Improvement activities performed within the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates and generates the development of various reports regarding program performance against quality indicators.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual Quality Improvement reports for presentation at the monthly Quality Improvement Committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

RN License, BSN Preferred. Experience in quality management and risk management; working knowledge of data collection techniques to compile and analyze information and to draw conclusions and prepare reports; detailed knowledge of laws and regulations governing health and public health operations. Demonstrates understanding of compliance systems and controls within the healthcare industry.

Case Manager/ Outreach Worker

Job Summary

Case Manager/Outreach Worker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides access to prenatal to postpartum services to pregnant women participants of the Healthy Start Program.
  • Ensures that participating children are immunized up until they are 2 years of age.
  • Manages the services of the Healthy Start Case Management/Outreach Program with the support and the direction of the program coordinator, health educator, obstetrician/gynecologist, pediatrician, nutritionist, social services, and behavioral health team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in at least one of the following: social work, health sciences, social sciences, or behavioral sciences from an accredited school or university. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides services in the fields of medical and public health, families and children, or substance abuse and mental health.
  • Diagnoses and treats clients and helps them gain access to resources while confronting issues adversely affecting their lives, such as mental illness, poverty, addiction, and abuse.
  • Delivers care appropriate for an outpatient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population.
  • Must be willing to perform administrative tasks related to caseload or as needed by the Health Center.

Billing Representative

Job Summary

Billing Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews and edits itemized bills from patient encounters and processes claims for submission to the respective insurance carriers or direct billing for fee-for-service consumers.
  • Prepares insurance assignment forms with data such as names of insurance company and policyholder, policy number, and physician diagnosis, etc. for inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Contacts insurance companies to verify patient coverage and obtain information concerning extent of benefits.
  • Computes total bill amounts to be paid by insurance company and by patient.
  • Answers patients’ questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.
  • Reconciles patients’ accounts against receivables (Cash and Insurance EOBs).

Certified Medical Technician – CMT

Job Summary

Certified Medical Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides direct care to patients in a clinical setting supporting the efforts of physicians, practitioners and licensed nurses.
  • Prepares examination rooms for delivery of health services.
  • Ensures lab slips, x-rays, and diagnostic reports are on the chart at the time of patient visit.
  • Takes and documents patients’ medical histories and vital signs.
  • Performs EKG, phlebotomy, tuberculin skin tests, hearing and vision screenings on patients.
  • Prepares patients for examination, treatment and procedures;

Call Center Representative

Call Center Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answering and directing incoming telephone calls, providing information about NCHC and its various services.
  • Schedules and confirms appointments and maintains appointment calendars for providers.

  • Explains Health Center policy including payment of accounts and determines fee for service based on sliding fee schedule.

Facilities Maintenance Worker

Job Summary

Facilities Maintenance Worker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Ensures the overall maintenance and repair of all NCHC facilities in compliance with prevailing government and licensing standards under the direction the Manager of Facilities. This may include such maintenance service that does not require the work of a licensed contractor as follows:
    • Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detects malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre-established check sheet.
    • Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes)
    • Re-configures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
